Echo CS
While homeowner-targeted chainsaws may not need all the bells and whistles as their Pro-grade brethren, they still need to be able to stand up to all kinds of applications. From cutting firewood to cleaning up after a storm, durability and performance are a must. The Echo CS-4010 rear-handle chainsaw replaces the brand's CS-400 and adds some new features and tech. We’re looking at how it stacks in the residential market so you know what to expect.
The CS-4010 fine-tunes Echo's homeowner chainsaw lineup, replacing the brand's CS-400 chainsaw. Its 41.6 cc professional-grade engine produces up to 13% more power than its predecessor, at 1.9 kW of power output. For chain speeds, you can expect up to 24.2 m/s at the top end.
This chainsaw adds in some new technology, including Echo's i-30 starter, which reduces starting effort by up to 30% compared to the CS-400. Echo also tells us the CS-4010 stratified 2-stroke engine produces fewer emissions than conventional engines in the same class.
This rear-handle chainsaw features a lightweight, maneuverable design, weighing just 9.5 pounds dry. The CS-4010 is compatible with both 16-inch and 18-inch bars, giving you 14 or 16 inches of cutting capacity respectively.
Convenience features include a side-access tooled chain tensioner for accessibility and control, as well as translucent oil and fuel tanks to help you keep track of your levels.
To keep your engine free of dirt and debris, Echo also included G-Force Engine Air Pre-Cleaner for less maintenance and longer life.
This chainsaw retails for $319.99 and you can find it at your favorite Echo retailer. Echo backs it with a 5-year residential warranty and a 1-year commercial warranty.
